2nd Avenue is a vibe, a passion, and the location of a home studio that inspired two long-time friends to follow their musical dreams. Christian and Jules met at university in the late 90s and bonded over a shared love of India, Maton guitars, and 60s folk music. After jamming together on and off for over twenty years, exploring various musical avenues and projects, they formed 2nd Avenue to bring their mature, often dark, cynical, and nostalgic indie rock tunes to the world. Musical influences include The National, Liz Phair, Patty Smith, U2, Hiss Golden Messenger, Luna, and of course, Neil Young. Expect catchy guitar-driven choruses, punchy rhythms, and a lyrical palate that reflects the wisdom and pain that come from having a bit of life under the belt.
