The fact that Penrith's 5 Way Addiction consider their debut album to be their Appetite For Destruction provides two important bits of context. Firstly, if that's your benchmark for a magnum opus, it's pretty obvious which way you like your rock'n'roll... guitars blazing, snarling and mean. Secondly, it's obvious that 5 Way Addiction have put their lives into this record. It is the result of blood, sweat, tears, beers and brotherhood. And it sounds fuckin' huge. Aptly titled Play Loud, 5 Way Addiction haven't cut any corners with their debut. From the songs, to the producer, to the players themselves, all of elements needed to make authentic, balls-out rock are present. Great singer? Check. Great guitar playing? Check. Bulletproof rhythm section? Check. Great songs? Check. It's all there... executed with the unmistakable precision of veterans. Every song on Play Loud comes loaded with a seismic fist-in-air chorus you can't stop yourself from singing along to. Opening charger Mutha
