My name is Matt Saunders. I was born and raised in Washington, D.C., where my first love was the drums. After playing in a number of bands along the U.S.East coast, I eventually gravitated toward songwriting. Now I'm a singer-songwriter and one-man rock band living in Adelaide. I write songs that split the difference between the personal and the political, do my best to rock the shit out of them in my home studio, and then put them out on my website. I play all the instruments, layering drums, bass, guitar, and vocals into heavy power-pop, whisper-quiet folk, or something in between, depending on the spirit of the tune.
