With their live shows being described as explosive and energetic (Drum Media Perth – issue 307), Abandon Earth is full of chunky guitar driven riffs, hard-hitting drumming, powerful basslines and passion-filled lyrics. Forming in mid-2012, Abandon Earth started their gigging career with a bang, opening for local (now disbanded) pop-metal favourites Dead Set Radio. Since then, they have continued to impress audiences with their charismatic yet sincere performances. All three members were no strangers to the stage before forming Abandon Earth, sharing extensive experience in local original and cover bands. The overwhelming positive response to their shows has only fuelled their ambitions, with an EP release and tour of the eastern states on the drawing board for next year. Referring to Steven Hawking’s warning that humanity has to consider alternatives to Earth or face extinction, Abandon Earth’s name is also a literal reference to the fact they are ‘A Band On Earth’.
