If you've ever wondered what Violent Soho would sound like if Rivers Cuomo wrote their songs then look no further than your new favourite band: After School Care. Brooding near the bank of the Yarra River somewhere around Melbourne, After School Care have etched out a spot for themselves in the local scene. 2022 was a year of firsts for the boys including their first music video and sell-out show, both of which were built upon their solitary release for the year Tell Me. In 2023, the boys hope to have a year of 2nds, 3rds, 4ths and 100ths as they are set to release a bucket load of new material!
Their first release of the year, The Way , is an emotionally charged alternative rock single that explores the complex dynamics of relationships and the feelings of inadequacy and loneliness that can arise as a consequence. The song’s raw vulnerability explores the impacts of rejection and the resultant challenge of overcoming the past. It was expertly produced by Tim Maxwell (LOSER)!
