Afterthought originally formed in early 2002 (as Tim King on bass, Mark Kramer on drums, and Stephen Myerscough shredding the guitars) but due to Tim's inability to sing strong lead vocals, the band was held back from any real progress. Since early 2006 the band introduced lead singer Huw Fitzpatrick, moving Tim to back-up vocals, and have since established a loyal following by playing the many venues in Brisbane's city and Fortitude Valley. The band's major shows have been at clubs such as The Empire, The Jubilee Hotel, The Transcontinental Hotel, Fat Louie's and many other venues in Brisbane. A major highlight of their career so far was their most recent performance at Wynnum Foreshore's, High Tide. Playing a massive live set, always to a packed out crowd, the band ended the show playing their rendition of R.A.T.M's 'Killing In the Name Of' to over a psyched up crowd of 200 people. The show and mosh were so big and dangerous, the power was cut to the club because of crowd mass.

For their sound .afterthought mix crushing guitar riffs, emotional vocals, hook filled choruses and top it all off with a broad soundscape of samples that brings everything to life. Drawing inspiration from bands such as Bring Me The Horizon, Architects & Dayseeker. On the 9th of April 2021 .afterthought finally introduced the world to ‘Disconnect’.
