Agnes Manners returns to its roots with Aria & J-award-nominated singer/songwriter Matt Gravolin going solo. Gravolin leans into the pop and R&B influences honed on his debut AM record Fantasia Famish, produced, mixed & mastered by Shane Edwards (Hans Zimmer, The Libertines, Trophy Eyes, You Me at Six, Hellions) and raises himself to his full height. Gravolin showcases a sterling vocal performance on his new love-bop 'Everything Is Green’, using the entirety of his range to explore amor fou; the cloying broth that comes over one like water, warm and scalding in turns. Gravolin, a university-trained poet, details the impulsivity of hedonistic love with concise and thorough precision. It matters little to Gravolin whether his sky-scorching joy is an earthward nosedive disguised, or just a narcotised drop tower ride; it is a flight to be celebrated. His intention is made manifest by major-key Swiftian melodies and electronic experimentation that honours Frank Ocean’s upbeat singles.
