Guitar and vocals. 1 track, 1 take. No overdubs. Just the songs. As for a description - let's call it Middle Class White Boy Blues. The story of the MCWB blues is almost as old as rock music itself. As a genre it has included artists as diverse as Paul Simon, Radiohead, Matt Johnson, Robert Smith, Ben Folds and Kurt Cobain. Its character is defined by the attempt to intelligently translate the personal perspective and sensibility of your average middle class whiteboy into an artistic vehicle that draws in some - perhaps only minimal - way on the primal power of the blues musical form. The results have been rich and varied - but always involving at least one eye inevitably aware of (either for or against) a mainstream pop sensibility. My contribution is modestly offered.
