Alana J. is an expressive vocalist from the northern suburbs of Melbourne. Preferring not to call herself a singer or an emcee, she incorporates a range of vocal styles and techniques into her musical artistry. Alana J. grew up on a diverse auditory diet of r'n'b, hip hop, soul, jazz, rock and metal and then found her way into the drum n bass scene, starting as lead vocals in live dnb/hip-hop band Xandepic in 2012. Alana J. is passionate about her art and using her creativity to express, transform and transcend. In her solo project, she aims to explore another side of herself through more soulful melodies and futuristic urban beats. Alana J. continues to perform with Xandepic, alongside and working dynamically with talented emcee Bastian Bucks. She also collaborates with other artists such as Seeka and Kayboku. Her debut EP is set to be released sometime this year.
