ALEX ARONSTEN and THE SOUTHERN LIGHTS have a melody driven roots country sound with songs of love, loss and hope. They wrap these sounds and imagery in a blend of acoustic instrumentation, swells of pedal steel and sweet piano. Equally, when the songs require, the band delivers southern electric guitar with tasty hammond organ on a bed of driving rhythm, with a banjo thrown in for good measure.
