Canberra born Alexander Coffey is a solo singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and mix engineer who now resides in Melbourne, Victoria. Since writing and performing music from a very early age, his attention has now turn producing records. His debut solo album "Basoa Love" is set to be released in December of 2018. Alex's debut single "Layovers" is a honest, emotional synthesis of the feeling of traveling and leaving behind loved ones, objects, experiences and memories for the hope of something new. "Layovers" is driven with gentle lead guitar lines, an honest vocal melody and a deep but relaxing bass line.

Tokyo is hardly a woman's stage but Alex Coffey has managed to leave her mark. She refers to it as her "smear." Whether singing about the simplistic longings of unrequited love or the missed opportunities of her talented peers-- think storytelling you like to sing along to-- When Alex walks on stage the audience knows what to expect. "There's this whole 8-Mile sub-culture that has emerged in live houses across Tokyo... Most of the time I'm the only woman on the line-up so I've had to get a lot more comfortable with standing up and out... I'm still not, just quietly..."
