Since the release of Oh Mercy’s 2009 debut, Privileged Woes, Alexander Gow has released 6 critically acclaimed records, won an ARIA, nominated for several more, received national community radio, triple j, Double J and ABC radio support and toured the country countless times over. Perfect Moment was Gow's entry into dance music....albeit a lyrical cocktail. Classic songwriting with the drum machine on. It then made it into the hands of Kim Moyes (The Presets) who collaborated with Gow on the project creating Perfect Moment, a unique album like no other. Released 27 October 2023, 'Dizzy Spell' is his debut solo album and contributes to his growing body of work. Recorded on a 4-tack analogue machine, 'Dizzy Spell' features Gow playing acoustic guitar, piano, and bass. 'Evil' Graham Lee (The Triffids) contributes pedal steel. Richard Bradbeer provided additional bass guitar work. Pete Luscombe (Paul Kelly) played the drums. Rowena Wise played the fiddle. Some guy Gow met on the interest played the oboe on one track for a pineapple. It's his most confident and exciting yet.
