Alpha Degenerate formed in 2010 from the remaining members of the now deceased Sydney band Kittinger, Matt (Guitar) and Steve (Bass) were joined by Rob (Drums) and Ross (Vocals) to create a unique sound that is best described as Regressive Metal. Blending the simplicity and social anarchy of Punk with the intensity and raw emotion of Metal, Alpha Degenerate's sound is a mix of down-tempo, down-tuned, cyclic and hypnotic riffs, topped off with raw screaming vocals that convey a message of pure contempt. Alpha Degenerate started in 2010 by the CSIRO as a social experiment into the the decline in moral and personal hygiene standards of musicians living in Western Sydney. Due to the subjects compete lack of co-operation with the scientific community the CSIRO have since pulled funding from the project and today the members from Alpha Degenerate are forced to live underground like rats, occasionally re-surfacing to play shows for other lost specimens of humanity.
