Like so many others before them, the band Amega evolved from a couple of friends with a shared enjoyment for music. Even though in their humble begins there was no distinct effort to form an actual working band, the passion to express ones self through the medium of music was definitely there. In the early stages of 2008, the full line up of the band was solidified and the 4 members set about writing their material. By the time they had put the finishing touches to their first song, the giddy, youthful exuberance of ‘we’re in a band’ had taken a side step and was now surpassed by a longing to grow, expand, to be all they possibly could be. It is this drive and the diverse influences of the contributing members, which give Amega their emotively vast and familiar warbling sound, unique to Australian rock bands. Now in 2009, Amega serve to you their debut recording. An offering if you will, an accumulation of countless feelings, experiences and points of view summed up in 30 minutes

Amega crafts nocturnal dreamscapes into journeys of sound for you to embark upon. Amega’s musical world is the product of her rural rainforest home, melding the lush magic of the rainforest into the sounds of the city. Amega independently writes, produces, and performs all of her music, also collaborating with a number of artists as a vocalist.
