When the Sun Arrives was written on a trip back to the Maldives for American Boy. Shortly after coming back his 'Maama' (grandmother) passed away. The song has become a passing tribute for him and his family. Although he is Australian born, with Maldivian, Indian and Scottish heritage he goes by American Boy as he never really knew where he belonged. When the Sun Arrives is produced, mixed and mastered by American Boy.
