Releasing her debut single ‘Don’t “Go’ today, Amy Jordan gives us our first taste of her incredible vocal talents and a peek into her introspective musical world. Showing us the artists of Western Sydney have plenty left to give, continuing to culturally thrive. Growing up, contemporary R&B was a religion for Amy, who channelled this passion into her vocal craft and songwriting. Amy has been finding her feet as an artist the past few years behind closed doors in recording studios and rehearsal rooms across Sydney - finding her voice from within the silence of covid lockdowns. Don’t Go is the first single to bloom from her studio sessions. “I write a lot of demos and just keep working at them until something clicks. Workingshopping endless different vocal ideas, really experimenting with a lot of harmonies and backing vocals. With ‘Don’t Go’ I still wanted to add more and more even after it was mixed. My first song out, but a long road to get here.” The track production features work from Xavier Dunn (Jack River, Graace, Hayden James) and Craig Willson (Kinder, Mickey Kojak, Joy.) Listeners will come to find Amy’s unique brand of woozy synths and dusty organs, lo-fi drums, and tape saturation, under layers and layers of vocal harmony, experiments and exploration.
