Ancient Channels is a Brisbane indie rock outfit known for its swirling guitar landscapes, dream-pop sensibilities, and a cinematic approach to songwriting. The project channels a love of ’80s post punk, modern psych-pop, and atmospheric post-punk into a sound that feels expansive yet intimate. Formed against the backdrop of Brisbane’s tightly knit independent music community, Ancient Channels quickly stood out for their ability to fuse shimmering textures with grounded, emotionally honest lyricism. Their songs unfold like scenes—rich layers of reverb, swirling effects, and melodic guitar interplay creating a sonic world that invites listeners in rather than overwhelms. The result is music that feels both nostalgic and exploratory: echoes of The Cure and Siouxsie And The Banshees woven into something distinctly their own. Onstage, Ancient Channels delivers immersive performances marked by dynamic energy and detailed soundscapes. The band’s live sets move fluidly from atmospheric intros
