The day Andrew was born was a monumental day for the family. He was born with some health defects, his spine in the shape of an S (scoliosis) made him uncomfortable in his body, the only solace was to cry so he was crying constantly. Relaxation and sleep eluded him. Growing into a toddler and standing became difficult, his feet were turned in (pigeon toed ) his back was not straight enough to hold his weight. After many years of cognitive exercises , speech pathology Andrew was able to function like a semi-normal child. The 60s were a time of many new concepts, some unexplained theories especially in the area of mental disability. The doctors had made a diagnosis frontal lobe damage incurred during gestation. Sleepless nights, excess energy, unabated slurring of words, the mind racing ahead of itself, made concentration almost impossible.
