Andy grew up playing the flute. H managed to complete up to 8th grade AMEB on this instrument. In high school he played guitar and sung in a hardcore punk band who were inspired by bands such as the Dead Kennedy's and NoFx as well as the local punk scene in Newcastle. The 2000s saw Andy develop an interest in dance music especially breaks and spent some time playing flute and djing in nightclubs. 2012 see's Andrew going back to his roots, 90's alternative music, the golden era where you could wake up on Saturday morning and watch your favourite bands on Recovery, and before the internet age and the age of the auto tune. Andy's songs on unearthed take sonic sounding guitars, (sometimes deliberately auto tuned out of tune,) big beats and soulful synths and vocals to produce what he hopes is a new and original style.
