My name is Angel, and I am Sydney born and raised. I’ve been arranging, singing and song writing as a side thing for almost 8 years now (I started in 2011 when I was in year 11). I make all sorts of music, but mostly hiphop/rnb, rock, pop and the occasional instrumental remix of songs. For a while a few years ago, I collaborated with a few underground producers and rappers in Sydney and Chicago, and that resulted in some tracks which ended up being posted on SoundCloud. Nothing fancy! In recent years, I started to become passionate about issues close to my heart – my own experiences and the experiences of those similar to me along the journey of discovering our gender identities. As a result, my core focus is now on making songs which have very strong queer and transgender discourse.

AngEL is a multi instrumentalist and vocalist with a vocal range of up to 5 octaves depending on the day! With a love for sounds and rhythms of many cultures her incredibly unique sound has been tricky to label. Her voice has often been referred to as ''The Chameleon" for it's ability to leap from one soundscape to another and over the years has experimented with many different styles of music including opera, jazz, experimental, dance music and Indie Pop to name a few. "I love sounds, I love the way it brings people together with it's own language. Music is something everyone can relate to. I hear music and rhythm in everything, the tap running, the computer humming, the sound of children playing, the crunching of gravel under my feet, everything! One of my greatest inspirations for writing music is when i go bush walking listening to the sounds constantly changing around me as the vegetation changes. I find it fascinating every time. My name is Angela O'Brien and I grew up in Geelong. I have been singing since I was a kid, always in choirs and what not but i was never in the leads. I hated my voice and somewhat still do but I decided that my opinion didn't really matter and I really needed the opinion of others to make that good or bad choice so I decided to come out of the closet, dust off my mic and record a few songs for others to hear.
