Eventually this extended to playing piano & keyboards and singing. Before we got there though, my very first formal lessons ever in music was with an Indian lady who was the Mother of a little girl I played with called Aarthi. I heard her singing oneday and was transfixed. I told my Mum I wanted to learn how to do that Indian singing so at 7 years old, there I was sitting on the floor of her apartment singing to squeezebox and following a book of teutonic scales .
