As her first few notes float out into the air, the chatter simmers to silence; Walyalup singer-songwriter Anna Schneider has you pulled in, all eyes fixed on the stage. The form and feeling of Anna’s songwriting, which slips between folk and rock with alt-country touchstones, is effortless, true and intimate, inviting comparison to the music of Julia Jacklin, Alice Phoebe Lou and Big Thief. Anna’s lyrics are her own, and ripe with honesty, carrying a depth that far belies her age.
