The music of Melbourne band AOAO provides listeners an effortless soundtrack to summer, balancing beautiful melodies and sassy harmonies with heavy grooves, electro sounds and catchy pop hooks. Drawing influences from an eclectic array of musical sources - as well as from the group’s urban lifestyle - AOAO breaks through genre barriers with a sophisticated sound, guaranteed to uplift and invigorate. A project initiated by Joanna Lavell (vocals) and Mark Morgan (bass), the outfit is completed by drummer Luke and guitarist Jake; together, the four gravitated towards Melbourne’s vibrant music scene after meeting at university in country NSW. No strangers to the spotlight, group members have previously played prestigious Australian events such as Splendour in the Grass, the East Coast Blues and Roots Festival and Coca Cola Live and Local. AOAO's mash-up of soul, jazz, disco, R&B and nostalgic funk results in an atmosphere nothing short of electric.
