▲ P O L L O ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Began mid 2009 when two kids decided to constructively channel their boredom in the form of melodic sound. After a short period of time another two gentlemen were thrown in the mix, unearthing a distinct sound from which Apollo were born. Remaining hidden for the best part of their first year as a band, the Apollo team steadily brewed a unique mix of dance, post-punk & pop, as well as shooting the odd hoop or two. 2010 saw Apollo finally break out onto the local scene, turning a few heads with some demo tracks and a high energy live show. Now with some experience under their belt and some ambition in their heads Apollo have a long and winding path in front of them, one they are eager to begin. Apollo is the production project of Adelaide-based producer, DJ, and musician Dylan Wright. Merging the drum rhythm of 2-step uk garage, with ambient soundscapes of guitar, synthesisers, and emotional vocals, Apollo’s music bridges the gap between subtle, melodic headphone music, and the in-your-face, bass driven sound of a nightclub. The project aims to be as honest and authentic as possible; disregarding how it may be perceived.

Brisbane based indie/post-rock band 'Apollo' have just released their debut EP titled 'The Small Step'. Recorded at Byron Bay's SAE, Apollo have just come off the back of an East coast EP launch tour playing with Brisbane's 'Epithets' and Sydney and Melbourne shows with These Hands, Grun and Solkyri. Apollo is a nice discovery of 2011 on which big hopes can be built – listening to their song “Balancing” is like diving to the bottom of the swimming pool and resurfacing again more alive.'
