In early 2011, two unacquainted lads walked into their first German class of the year. They had a lot in common: both were exceptionally lanky and both were exceptionally bad at speaking German. Most significantly however, they were both in the early stages of an obsession with Radiohead, Muse, The Killers and U2. A couple years after first sharing an earphone each in that German class, Stan Doyle (vocals, guitar) and James Peppercorn (bass) formed Array. The addition of new member Joel Kelett (guitar, backing vocals, percussion) has facilitated a new sonic direction for the band. Combined with the classically influenced songwriting of Stan and rock-solid bassist James, Array has achieved a rich blend of sounds that few others in the Australian scene can match. With two EP’s now under their belt, the group have played explosive live shows across Sydney and Wollongong. Their music consists of diverse styles and genres including Rock, Electronic and Classical.
