The Arrowsmith Big Band (ABB) was formed by Bill Cave in 1978, in Qualicum Beach, BC, Canada. Bill coined the name of the Big Band "Arrowsmith" because the band drew talented musicians from around Mount Arrowsmith, Port Alberni, Qualicum Beach, Parksville and Nanaimo. This is still true today. The band now also draws members from Comox and Ladysmith.
