In 2011 in Brisbane Australia, 2 lifelong friends decided to get serious and commit to recording an album. Artisan Kin was formed. Crazy, enigmatic guitarist Troy Stoi and emotive singer/songwriter JD, decided it was time to fully commit to this venture. What ensued was an 18month writing/recording project that produced an 18-track indie epic, called “All The Creatures Are Stirring”, released in April 2012. JD says, “Both of us have been in bands and recorded albums, and throughout all of this, we continued to write together, no matter what was going on both professionally and personally…we realised we enjoyed writing together and we really liked what we came up with, so after a few false starts, it was like the planets finally aligned, and it was time. We wanted this album to showcase what we could do, to open some doors, and to show people we are serious”. Rather than record an EP, the guys thought they would go for it and write an album full of direct, energetic pop/rock tunes.
