Ashleigh grew up on the Northern Beaches and played both the flute and Irish tin whistle from an early age. It wasn’t until she enrolled in a music business unit while at university that she developed an interest in songwriting. When she was 19 years old, she wrote and recorded her first original song, entitled ‘You’ve Changed’. Scott Morgan, who has composed and arranged music for well-known TV series Dragon Ball Z, made the instrumental. The track, an emotional ballad about heartbreak, was shortlisted for the 2010 Catapult Song Contest. More recently, in August 2020, she released a brand new single, ‘Hope You’ll Stay’. The song was written by Ashleigh on the piano first, and later produced by Joe Clar, an audio and music professional based in Boston. She was lucky enough to secure a radio interview with Fay Kirk of 2MAX FM. Ashleigh hopes that what started out as a bedroom project will one day evolve into something more!
