Distance is no barrier. A collective soul of sounds where states are irrelevant... Finding reliable cogs on a wheel....... Formed from a musical association spanning over two decades, the ..Ashram Poets.. are everything that their previous partnerships could never be. Two guitar based musicians, ..Peter Long.. and ..Greg Vincent.., decided back in 2006 to retire their six-strings indefinitely and dive headlong into the world of loops, beats and electronica. With a combination of ingenuity, experimentation and a self-admitted ignorance of dance music convention, they arrived at a sound completely their own. Stripping away the usual guitar, bass and drums formula back to core elements of groove and melody, they were free to experiment with whatever came to hand. Cutting up loops from old recording sessions yielded new textures, experimenting with layers of sound and stripping back overloaded arrangements revealed long buried melodies - a new aural aesthetic emerging from their old
