After five long years as After Dark and several lineup changes and the final original member leaving the band it was time for a change. After Dark was no more, in its place comes Atticus. Maintaining the rhythm section of the final After Dark incarnation but with a new, charismatic and wildly talented singer, Alex Samulenok. Atticus will be keeping some of the aspects of After Dark you grew to love and blending them with an entirely new sound influenced by the evolution of rock. While Atticus is a new name on the Melbourne music scene there is nothing amateur about their approach to music or their experience as musicians, hundreds of gigs have been notched up by these young and talented musicians before they even hit the stage as Atticus for the first time. This is definitely a band to keep your eye out for.

Playing music together since their early teens, 3 brothers and their cousin make up Wollongong band Atticus. They began writing and performing original music in 2008, recorded an EP in 2011, and are currently preparing to record a debut album. Their alternative rock sound takes influence from bands such as The Temper Trap, The Cure, and The Strokes.

I have loved music for most of my life and started playing keyboard at the age of 10 and began singing soon after. I write many of my own lyrics and also perform both covers and originals for School Spectacular events, representing my school for the state. I also play guitar and record music and upload to social media and soundcloud.
