Formed in October 2013, Autonomous Waves is the brainchild of raconteur and all-round gentleman Aiden Bradley. It represents his desire to create atmospheric ambient soundscapes, which he achieves by layering countless complex sounds and harmonies. The resulting music is ingeniously simple and utterly listenable. Some of his major influences include Future of Forestry, Mogwai, Lowercase Noises, Athlete, The Shins and The Kooks, to name just a few. Aiden wouldn’t admit it, but his musical history can be traced back to the days of playing clarinet in his primary school’s Concert Band. In truth, he’d much rather be remembered for his tenure as a guitarist in the St. John’s Anglican College Church Band. Since that time he has served as the lead guitarist of Lazy Tangerine and is currently the frontman for two-piece funk-rock outfit Trapped Admirals. Also, he once caught a fish with his BEAR hands. We’d like to see you top that.
