Avenue
A new four piece indie rock band hitting prestigious venues all over Melbourne, Australia with their extremely catchy tunes ranging from power ballads to epic rock to pop grooves. Playing killer sets since 2009, they released their debut EP "One Way Street" in 2013 and followed it up with "Red Letter Day" in 2014, with number 3 on its way. James Frampton, Tommy Stevens, Nick Lazzara and Philippe Phan are The Avenue.
Imagine bottom-end muscle in a head-on collision with a happy headspace. What about 4D soundscapes twisted around a prog rock locomotive? Free spirits disguised in stark black and white attire? Good looks behind great songs? Young Adelaide-based pop trio, Avenue makes this bunch of quirky contradictions seem perfectly normal. Avenue released their second EP Colourblind on May 31st, the release presenting the band with exciting exploration and development. There’s more muscle and texture, a more ambitious poly-layering of sounds, a heightened maturity in the lyrics and vocals. Avenue is a seasoned act that belies its youth. It restores one’s sense of hope in “good pop”. Contact email: avenueband@live.com
