In 2003 they got a new drummer, Mark Debono and changed their name to AVIRUS after finding out that there was a German band already named Misanthrope. By that time Mick (bass and face) had had Misanthrope tattooed across his arm and they had merchandise ready to go. They thought the name Misanthrope was set in stone, they were wrong! Avirus recorded a four track demo at Melbourne records called Bring’em out eat’em raw. We persisted with Mark for 4 years but the spices just weren’t in the kitchen. We were only as strong as our weakest link and there was no point in head butting a brick wall. So we moved on to our next victim... I mean drummer.... Tim Laird in 2009. We continued to write songs with a tinge of "orchestrated chaos and a twist of madness". More than a flawless victory, happy with the line up we will see you soon!
