Azazeal is Melbourne based singer-songwriter Adam Scott-McGuinness. After completing a Bachelor of Music Studies at the Hobart Conservatorium Adam has left behind his home in Tasmania and his band of three years “Lucy” for the bigger city of Melbourne and a more intimate expression of himself as a solo artist. Drawing on his influences of Jeff Buckley, The Tea Party, and the Elliot Smith his performances are emotional, deeply personal, and as a lone performer suprisingly full making use of looping and eastern instruments. In 2008 Adam was selected personally by Clare Bowditch to accompany her on stage as part of her Winter Secrets tour. “Adam applied, and he was brilliant!”- Clare Bowditch. Tom Wilson of Sauce magazine had this to say “Before I even heard a note, the concept alone was utterly enticing...” Adam blends eastern music and western music through the use of the Turkish Oud and Indian Esraj. His self recorded tracks reflect his attempt to find balance between the beauty
