Starting as an accoustic guitar duo influenced by 90s bands like Soundgarden, I Mother Earth, Stone Temple Pilots and Blind Melon, McKenzie and Bafile wrote a handful of grungy raw tracks and recorded them with a 58 and a couple of busted up guitars. "We liked what we were writing; we weren't taking ourselves too seriously, but we were putting ourselves into the songs." Former 'Dust' bassist and long time friend Mike Barker joined the band a few months later. "I hadn't seen or spoken to Mike in over 5 years. My ex reminded me what suburb me and Mike used to live in - my recollection of those days is a little hazy - and I looked him up. Turns out the day I made the call was the day after he had come back from living interstate, so there was a bit of syncronicity there."
