After a decade of playing trumpet in bands Basil explodes into her solo project. Singing honest lyrics about uncertainty, love and the in-between. Tunes from over your back fence that make you wanna grab a crate and jump over. Growing up in western Sydney in the 90s shaped Basil's sound and inspired her to move around this huge island chasing gigs and musos. Basil represents the sounds that she heard blasting from neighbour's TVs and boom boxes in her childhood. Inspired by Balkan, Turkish and Arabic folk and dance music Basil is unashamedly herself, blending these styles with RnB and dance music.
