Welcoming from Canberra, Basslines & Beartraps have been creating their original sound since 2018. With Joey on guitar and vocals alongside Jemima, Ashleigh on Bass and Jasmyna on drums, they have quickly gained attention for their catchy lyrics and mellow sound. Having spent several weeks holding the number 1 position on Triple J Unearthed overall charts with their debut “Lions and Tigers and Bears” and as well as their original live track “Alone”, their new single “Girlfriend” is sure to impress. Being influenced by legendary bands such as The Beatles, The Eagles and Crowded House, Basslines & Beartraps have been described as having “laidback, reggae indie vibes” with a sound reminiscent of Winston Surfshirt. Their original sound has gathered the attention of Triple J Unearthed listeners, featuring in the number 9 position of The Most Hit Unearthed Profiles of 2019.
