The Bastilles - Newcastle Clever songwriting, sharp, angular guitars, thickened by keys and a driving rhythm section with enough hooks to hang your entire wardrobe on their set list. Their fast paced Indie Pop flourishes are in the same ball park as Phoenix and Vampire Weekend. Songs are constructed with feeling and energy. Lust flirts with passion, melody, orchestration and dynamics combined with a thoroughly planned live show that engages the audience’s attention from start to finish. They look like dinner and a movie with a sound that fucks on the first date and it is this confidence is what sets The Bastilles apart from their peers. “We work hard until we create something that we would be happy to hear on the radio.” With a ‘less is more’ attitude that focuses on their individual strengths, “We make the most out of our simplicity but still try to achieve a big dynamic sound.” Ryan (Guitar) The Bastilles gained local attention through The Bacardi Band Search, claiming $5000
