Baxter and Ives was formed amid the soaking rain and ankle-deep mud of a folk festival back '98. In the shelter of a caravan awning, Robert Ives strummed his guitar and Henry Baxter sang along to the old folk classics, mainly Bobby Dylan. By the time festival ended and the crowd slowly began to head for home, Baxter and Ives had been born. If anything sums up Baxter and Ives, it's "music with a message." What's the point of singing if it doesn't mean anything? Baxter and Ives ditched the electronic equipment and engineering tools and recorded some folk tunes using nothing more than Baxter's vocals and Ives' battered old guitar. Nothing fancy. Just music. Baxter and Ives.
