BAYOU
A three-girl, two-boy outfit from Melbourne, Bayou weave together cascading guitar lines, noirish vocals, eerie female harmonies and propulsive drumming to create a sound that's haunting, hypnotic and dirty all at the same time – a fuzzed-out missive from some enticing underworld.
BAYOU have been preaching a sermon of dirt and sludge and leaving a path of fried minds with their unique sound of Stoner Metal/Sludge Rock since 2009. In 2013, BAYOU released their self-titled debut album after honing and refining their dirty blend of various musical genres, tripped vibes and intense live performances with countless gigs. A track from the album, Barbiturate Blues, was nominated for heavy song of the year at the 2013 WAMI Awards. BAYOU released their first official video (Leader of the Damned) and embarked on an East Coast tour in June 2013 in support of the new video and album release. The tour was followed up with the "Crazy Cousins From the Wild West" tour in April 2014. BAYOU’s list of international supports include Sleep, The Sword, Conan, Red Fang, Kylesa, Earthless, Black Cobra and Jucifer.
