Originally formed in 2015, Beatnik Empire brought their own brand of Indie Britpop Rock back to the Brisbane scene in mid 2024 with a vibrant new line up, imaginative re-works of some old classics and a fresh vibe in the new material. Singer/Songwriter Matt Collingwood is the consumate story teller with a boat load of real life experiences to draw upon. Guitarist Wayne delivers a wide array of sounds and textures with influences ranging from Johhny Marr to David Gilmour. Bass player Pete delivers drive, power, depth and melody, combining perfectly with Richard’s precision and flamboyance on the kit to create an outstanding rhythm section.
