Before The Wave is the recording name for Melbourne singer/songwriter and musician Mick Richardson. Mick records at home and sings, plays guitars and bass on all his recordings to date. Before The Wave's first album "Now You Run In The Human Race",released in 2014, was actually a collection of songs written by Mick in the 90's as a teenager. These songs hung around just long enough in Mick's head and an old note book to be put down and become the first recording for Before The Wave. Vocals, guitar and bass were recorded at home and drum loops were cut up and spliced to round out the "band" with some early mistakes made in the recording process which meant the guitars phased themselves out completely on mono. Mick was introduced to Mat Robins at Coloursound Recording studio by his son Liam having recorded his school xmas carols there the year before. Under instruction to do his best with Mick's first amateur effort, the album was mixed by Mat Robins at Coloursound Recording Studio
