Short, sharp, sweet songs, crafted by heartache, tarnished by joyous enthusiasm, scarred by nonchalance… take comfort from your Best Friend Ever. Live, BFE deserve a reputation for having the biggest two-piece sound around, putting their moody/sweet originals and a few quirky interpretations from the pop canon through their indie-rock stomping ground. Johnny Batchelor, guitar and vocals, has a past… let’s leave it at that. Rob Laurie, drums and vocals, is an all-round musician equally at home wielding guitar sounds like demented shards when fronting his experimental art ensemble A Slow Rip, as when driving the rhythm and singing like an (only slightly demented) angel with Best Friend Ever. The ‘Songs For Saints’ six track EP is out now.
