Born out of Sydney, Australia, BESTIES create nostalgic Pop-Punk and Emo Rock through the lens of a generation of youth who’ve learnt to intersect with the world through the internet. Both growing up in separate, isolated coastal towns, producer, Nat Sherwood & vocalist Max Pasalic both found solace solace in their local hardcore communities before branching out into hip-hop and pop worlds. Debuting in May of 2022 ‘two bedroom apartment’ was their first joint effort and doubled as their entry into triple j unearthed’s DIY Supergroup competition. They would go on to win the competition with triple j staff, calling them, ‘creative & emphatic’ and ‘apart from the pack’ — even securing a spot add and triple j unearthed feature artist nod. Following the group has completed national tours with acts like Between You & Me, Lil Lotus & Yours Truly. In 2026 the band signed to Greyscale Records and expanded their roster with guitarist James Venites and Aria-nominated drummer Brad Cronan.
