Big Spirit = big energy = big heart.
Big Spirit formed in New York City in 2016 as the songwriting vehicle for singer Sed Pepper, guitarist Simon Langford and drummer Amy Franz (ex-Super Wild Horses). Childhood friends Pepper and Franz met on a school bus in their native Western Australia and began playing music together when they moved to New York in 2012. Drawing on an NYC legacy of bands like The Velvet Underground, Ramones and Blondie while imbued with an Australian Rock lyricism reminiscent of The Go-Betweens and INXS, Big Spirit’s tough, exuberant pop songs hark back to a raw, street-talking sound, when Rock and Roll still had something to say. Stay very tuned.
