BIGYIJ is a song-writer, rapper, singer, and graphic designer. Given the nick-name ‘Yij’ in high-school as a result of name calling back and forth with a close friend, which evolved into his current stage name. American born, Nigerian made and Australia raised, Yomi is aiming to take his talents to Sydney to start off 2023 and find his rhythm in the Oz Hip-Hop scene. The independent artist spent the second half of 2022 working on creative skills to better his craft, and is now able to mix his own music, edit his own videos and create cover arts for them. He aims to spread good vibes and make his name known through tunes that have a touch of his Yoruba culture and tradition fused with rhythmic style to connect with an audience that relates to his music and lyricism on mental health, relationship issues, finding your place within society and just general flexing when necessary. Yij whips up fusions of Trap, Drill, Lo-Fi/Melodic/Chill Rap but aims to use more Yoruba in his music in 2023
