WOMANSONG.My songwriting career started in the 90's with acapella group Paterson's Curse,then Fillus Dilla and Green Tara.Best described as country folk,the songs are melodic,lyric-driven and given to elaborate harmonies.Others have described my work as "progressive folk","timeless","very personal","meaningful and entertaining","Joan Baez-like but not as pretentious",and that I'm a "wordplaysmith".My many amateur performances have elicited reactions ranging from tears to laughter and offers of beer and groping from strange men.My friend June says I'm one of the best songwriters on the planet,and she's been around a while and knows a thing or two.I often wonder why I haven't been blessed with a gospel choir and orchestra.Blessed with co-creators who support and encourage me.Speaking of co-conspirators-just recorded my first album in British Columbia at Flux Recording Studios with the wonderful Daniel Warms and Mikesch Thomas.Watch this space.
