Formed in late 2009 by a group of higher-thinking high-schoolers who wanted their peers to find meaning and camaraderie in their music, Birth of a Hero is intent on making their Cross Hardcore (“XCore" for short) genre a different breed that people will remember. After several gigs in Perth, more than just the locals have begun to notice. The latest demos have gained acclaim by many national acts including former members of Australian post hardcore kings the “Getaway Plan” (now known as Avalanche for Aeries), amongst many others. After welcoming latest addition Sam Crees on Bass, Birth of a Hero are playing their headlining underage debut show at HQ followed by a Record Label Showcase in mid December, with an EP launch also on the horizon.
