Blue Lucy

Bio history

Distrosub

Blue Lucy began with two girls who were bored of maths so decided to make music instead. They found they rather liked it, so have since grown from a backyard band to a sophisticated and impossibly attractive four piece regularly gigging around WA, including multiple festival appearances at Fairbridge Folk Festival, Norfolk Lanes Youth Festival, Nannup Music Festival, the WAMi festival, and Fremantle's Hidden Treasures. With sweet and soulful harmonies, sophisticated lyrics, fingerpicking guitar, luscious cello and badass drums infused with a diverse range of musical stylings, these banditos weave together a captivating and unique sound that is sure to charm. To borrow some of Lyndon Blue’s wordsmithery: “It’s pleasingly eclectic... They veer from rich Appalachian croon-a-longs to glimmer-eyed murder ballads, twee pop jaunts to rock-steeped storytelling that resounds with that Australian dryness.” (Cool Perth Nights) Blue Lucy’s debut EP is set for release in December 2013.

Blue Lucy is Adelaide's very own 5 piece public freakout machine who strive to bring you nothing but a good time amongst their psych rock and punk vibrations. Fancied as a mobile and versatile live ankle breaking, hip shaking pop-up boiler room, the Lucy’s strive to move bodies across Australia and the great beyond with a freshly ground self made sauce consisting of, but not limited to, rarely actually playing songs at band practice, rogue Missy Higgins singalongs, and allowing fans to just take merch on a ‘pay if you feel like’ basis. This not to miss live act is flexing the bolts of stages across Australia touring their energetic new EP and you’d better believe it’s worth the price of admission.
