Blush Response has always been driven by a deep internal conflict: songwriter Alister Douglas’ ear for dreamy pop melodies, and his burning desire to tear them apart with squalls of fuzz and reverb. From humble bedroom studio beginnings, the early EPs, ‘Telltale’ and ‘Dead Air’, quickly found their way into the ears and hearts of the online shoegaze community, appearing in a variety of Best of 2014 lists across the internet, from Japan to the United States, and back home in Australia. The following years saw the band perform alongside the likes of Nothing (US), Spiderbait, Holy Holy, and Flyying Colours, as well as releasing two songs on compilations from French and Brazilian labels 'Beko Disques' and 'TBTCI Records'. Amongst ever-growing anticipation, April 2018 marked the release of the debut album ‘Hearts Grow Dull’ and with it the chance for the band to bring their ‘gloriously fuzzed out’, ’blissful wall of noise’ to a wider Australian audience with their first national tour.
